If you're dreading spending the season of Love Actually and Mariah Carey on repeat solo; the best gift you can give to yourself this year is that of enjoying single life.

Yes- really! Here are a few tips to make you fall back in love with single life this season.

Fly solo

Don't skip on that Christmas party, single's event or get together because you have to go by yourself. Going by yourself doesn't make you a loser; it makes you confident, independent, and much more likely to meet new people.

Be selfish

Trust me the second you meet that special someone you're going to start having to juggle your commitments much more effectively. So while you can get away with that late night exercise class, or a weekend lost in catching up on Homeland- go for it.

Do it in your sweatpants. And relish the fact that all your time is your own.

Have a fling

While it may feel that way, you're not the only single person in the world.

There are tons of other people gravitating towards a handy spring of mistletoe so make sure you go out to the party, flirt your socks off and have a kiss you can laugh about the next day- while you still get to be irresponsible.

Start enjoying single life - and I promise the second you do it's one hundred times more likely to come to an end.
