An announcement about the upcoming Batman: Arkham Knight today brought both good and bad news.

Let’s get the bad news out the way first shall we?

The intended June 2 release date has been pushed back a few weeks to June 23.

Sefton Hill, game director for Rocksteady Studios, said: “We're a developer that hates to make any compromises, so we are sorry to say this means it's going to be just a little bit longer until you can play the epic conclusion to the Arkham trilogy.”

The good news is some new gameplay footage has been released for anyone putting the Caped Crusader’s explosive adventure on their summer shopping list to drool over.

The seven-minute 18-rated video teases more of the game that introduces Rocksteady's version of the Batmobile and features Scarecrow returning to unite the super criminals of Gotham and destroy the Batman forever.
