PizzaExpress has a reputation as the nation’s favourite high street pizza restaurant. They are renowned for their signature style, often combining local art or historical buildings with an elegant contemporary twist.
Inside, you will find the PizzaExpress signature ‘open kitchen’ where customers can enjoy the theatre of watching their food being freshly prepared by a team of experienced pizzaiolos.
On the menu, classic favourites such as the American Hot and Margherita, sit alongside pizzas by Theo Randall, head chef of the InterContinental Hotel on London’s Park Lane, and the new Leggera – ‘light’ – options.
The new Leggera pizzas are around 500 calories and less than 5g saturated fat. Made from the classic PizzaExpress dough and signature tomato sauce, each pizza is topped with Fior di Latte mozzarella and fresh ingredients. Inspired by a classic fresella from Naples – an Italian bread with a hole at its middle – dough is removed from the centre of the pizza and replaced with a delicious, fresh salad.
Also new for Spring, the Risotto Primavera: a wonderfully light mix of fresh spring vegetables cooked in a white wine sauce, served with rocket leaves and balsamic glaze. Back by popular demand, the Caffe Reale – a dessert of baby figs in a cinnamon and white wine spiced syrup with a dollop of mascarpone – joins a new Dolcetti dessert menu of small but perfectly formed desserts, each served with your choice of coffee. Creamier and tastier than your average ice cream, real Italian Gelato is also now on the menu at PizzaExpress.
PizzaExpress was launched in the UK by Peter Boizot MBE DL, after he was inspired by tasting his first pizza in Florence in 1948. The first PizzaExpress restaurant was opened in Wardour Street, London in 1965 and there are now over 300 restaurants across the UK.
Why not visit your local Pizza Express restaurant and sample one of their new Italian delights.
