Review: MM Fried Chicken, Sydenham

BEYONCÉ is a fan and reportedly eats it at least once a month, maybe as part of her routine to keep up her world-renowned ass.

Dropping in to London for a show at the O2 or Wembley she should stop off at Miss Millie’s for all her fried chicken needs. Well, that is, if the world’s best fried chicken place had spread further than Bristol and Cardiff.

Instead London is blessed with places like MM Chicken where the staff politely call you boss and engage you in conversation about the best can of drink to have.

And, if you do what I would normally do and just stick to pieces of chicken then it is good and a place worth stopping by after a few drinks in one of Sydenham’s watering holes.

But, in a review style, I strayed on to other sections of the wide ranging menu – which includes apple pie and ribs – and I should not have done.

The juiciest thing about my piece of barbecue chicken was the sauce with the meat quite dry inside the southern fried chicken.

MM’s chicken burger also came in with a D- from burger school so stick with what you know and go for chicken pieces – and tell Beyoncè I said hi.
