With Mother's Day coming up on March 11, here are a few afternoon tea ideas so you can spoil your mummy this year.

Afternoon tea underneath Cutty Sark - Greenwich

The only way to make an afternoon tea even better than it already is, is to put it in an amazing location. The ship might not sail anymore but this is one of the finest and freshest teas in London, under the copper hull. Afternoon tea costs £30pp but you can add a bubbly glass of prosecco or English sparkling wine to make the occasion extra special.

Mulberry Tea Rooms - Charlton House

Booking is essential for this one in the gorgeous setting of Charlton House. Set in a wood-panelled room and full of history, this is the perfect place for tea. In the summer you can dine outside with an afternoon tea consisting of a huge selection of cakes and sandwiches. Large groups will have the pleasure of the exquisite Dutch Room.

The Fan Museum - Greenwich

This is the perfect space for an afternoon of tea and indulgence overlooking a ‘secret’ garden in the Japanese style. Tea includes a choice of yummy cakes, freshly made scones and a pot of tea/cafetiere of coffee. £9 pp.

Little Nan's - Forest Hill and Deptford

Little Nan’s Bar is a little different to the other venues but no less exciting. Back in 2013 a man called Tristan gathered all of his nan’s ornaments, furniture and heirlooms and opened a bar in a tiny back room of a nightclub just off Deptford High Street. Now it sells cocktails named after all of his nan’s favourites such as Cilla Black and Pat Butcher. And in 2014 Tristan’s mum came along to create Little Nan’s Afternoon Tea, where all bakes and cakes are vintage recipes featuring an 89-year-old recipe for raspberry jam.

Vintage Lindy Lou - Crayford

Situated beside the River Cray, you can look out over the award-winning garden while sampling delicious homemade cream teas, cake and sandwiches.

The Bulls Head - Chislehurst

This popular Chislehurst joint serves a number of different afternoon teas for you to choose from such as the Most Unusual Tea. You will receive all the lovely cakes and sandwiches but with this one you will also get a Hendricks Gin Floradora Tea Cup Cocktail, made with Hendricks Gin, Ginger Ale, Fresh Raspberries and Cucumber £26 PP for this bubbly afternoon tea.

Fleurdethe - Danson House, Bexleyheath

With a beautiful setting you can enjoy a luxury afternoon tea consisting of sandwiches filled with tuna mayonnaise, ham and coleslaw, chicken, lettuce and tomato and you can wash it all down with unlimited hot drinks and lovely homemade cakes. £16.95pp.
