Get ready for a taste explosion to hit south east London this summer because Foodies Festival is coming to town with a trolley full of delicious things to see and do on Blackheath from July 8 to 10.

Here’s the low-down on what you can expect…

The British Street Food Awards

This isle’s finest street food vendors will be serving up their signature dishes from all varieties of vans and vehicles impress a panel of experts across categories including Best Main, Best Sandwich and Best Vegetarian Dish – plus, of course, the People’s Choice Award.

Celebrity chefs

Top chefs including Rosemary Shrager (star of the BBC’s Real Marigold Hotel), Adam Simmons (Michelin starred and winner of the Great British Menu), Masterchef finalists Tony Rodd and Emma Spitzer and Masterchef winner Dhruv Baker will all take to the Aga Rangemaster Chefs’ Theatre to share their skills and insights.

Live Music

It’s not all food and drink, the festival should have a good atmosphere thanks to plenty of live music.

Superfoods

This year, the festival is teaming up with healthy living chefs and food writers to give you more info about, recipes and the chance to try superfoods such as kefir, lucuma, kelp, banana flour and more normal-yet-extraordinary such as blueberries and red onion.
