The best food vans, truck and trailers are set to park up in Greenwich in December for one almighty festival and foodie fight to find out who is the greatest purveyor street food in Britain.

After four intense regional heats, the British Street Food Festival and Awards roll into The O2 on December 5 and 6.

Alongside the best street food in the country, there will be live music curated by Universal Music, street food crazy golf and beer and food tasting sessions from Sharp’s brewery.

Over 18s can get even get a free pint of Doom Bar or Cornish Pilsner.

The crowds at the festival will be able to vote for the People’s Choice Award while the other categories will be judged by a panel including chef Neil Ranking and actress and award-winning food writer Fay Ripley.

Fay said: “Nothing excites me more than delicious food cooked in front of me by people that truly care about every mouthful I take.

“This is the fourth British Street Food Award Finals that I have been lucky enough to judge. I’m coming along mob handed with friends and family because I don't want to miss out on the party. Just you wait...“

The finalists include:

  • Happy Maki, the sushi served out of a Renault Estafette called Gloria
  • Cheeky Italian, specializing in not only fantastic pasta but dishes that aren’t on the Pizza Express menu served from a 1970s Citroen H van clad in reclaimed wood.
  • The multi award-winning The Fish Hut
  • BangWok, serving authentic Bangkok cuisine from the back of a converted tuk tuk
  • Scream For Pizza, with amazing pizza made in a golden old army ambulance
  • Rasher, the winners of the south heat who cook the WHOLE pig
