Owner Jack Kamenou, who employs seven part-time staff, said: "It's a great achievement.

"We won it the first time and now we've got it a second time it's excellent.

"We would like to thank our customers because without them we wouldn't be where we are today."

The proud restaurant owner has been trading in Queen Street for 29 years in on of the UK's oldest fish and chip shops but is still not bored of the crispy meal.

He added: "There has been a fish and chip shop here since the 1920s and it has been trading ever since - even during the Second World War.

"I'll never get bored of it, my wife loves fish and chips and we have it once a week but I sometimes go for pie and chips or a saveloy."
