‘Tis the season to drink beer, it seems. The line-up of tempting beer festivals in south east London gets longer with the announcement of the second Kidbrooke Beer and Cider Festival.

Meantime has just put the word out about its big BrewFest in late May and Bexley Beer Festival starts today, but in between the two sits Kidbrooke from April 30 to May 2.

Held at Charlton Park Rugby Club, the three day event over the May Day bank holiday will include 50 real ales and 25 ciders including the locally-made Eltham Gold.

MORE FOOD AND DRINK:

Last year, nearly 1,000 people attended South East London CAMRA’s event and this year another large turnout is expected.

Branch chairman Steve Silcock said: “There will be something for everyone this year, with music on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon, a Meet the Brewer event, and hot and cold food.

“There is a vibrant real ale and craft beer culture in the area, with south east London playing a leading role in the new micro pub revolution sweeping the capital.”
