A Beckenham butcher has rustled up a sizzling sausage campaign in support of X Factor’s Ben Haenow.

Banger fanatic Ron Etheridge, who owns the traditional Villagers butchers on High Street in Beckenham, has created a signature sausage in Ben’s honour.

Croydon-born Ben, who used to work at Sainsbury’s in West Wickham, is a favourite to win this year’s X Factor.

The 29-year-old was safely through to the next round of the competition after performing his take on AC/DC classic, Highway to Hell.

Mr Etheridge, of Bishops Avenue, told News Shopper: “We’ve named a sausage after Ben and we are backing him all the way! He’s a local lad and he deserves to do well.

“The sausages are very versatile like him. They have really got the X Factor!”

The 47-year-old sausage enthusiast, who has owned Villagers for almost 20 years, has invented a unique recipe for Ben’s banger using red chilli pepper, honey, garlic, coriander, sage and oregano.

He said: “The sausages are sweet and spicy, catering for many flavours like Ben’s singing!”
