SOCKS are great and after shave is a very pleasant gift too.

But, if you’re still stuck for ideas and really want to treat your dad this Father’s Day, then why not do something really special.

Loch Fyne has built its reputation on delivering a great dining experience and this year the restaurant is doing something a bit special for dads everywhere.

And, as part of the offer, as soon as you sit down your dad will also be handed a pint of Old Golden Hen, completely free of charge.

Known for its quite superb selection of seafood there can be no doubting the inspiration that led Johnny Noble, Loch Fyne’s founder, to create an oyster farm, later add a smokehouse, a farm shop and then the Oyster Bar. All this was the start of the Loch Fyne Restaurant group.

But, it isn’t all about seafood feasts and even if you’re only looking for a quick snack or lunch for friends the versatile menu offers something for everyone.

This Father’s Day, Sunday June 16, Loch Fyne is offering some great specials and it’s still not too late to book a table for your dad.

There are a number of great dishes on offer, but personally I’d start with the Scallops and Prosciutto – Scottish scallops with San Daniele prosciutto and cauliflower puree. For the main course my recommendation would be Frito Misto – Panko battered salmon, king prawn, scallop, squid, broccoli and courgette, served with chilli jam and twice-cooked chips.

Alternatively you could choose the Father’s Day specials or the a la carte menu.

Go on, spoil your dad a little, you know he deserves it.
