It’s a movie about sleight of hand and trying to catch a glimpse of what’s going on, so it is fitting that Greenwich has a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it outing in the first trailer for Now You See Me 2: The Second Act.
The hotly-anticipated movie is a sequel to the star-studded 2013 flick Now You See Me in which a group of magicians, dubbed The Four Horsemen, outwit the FBI and win the public’s adulation with Robin Hood-style magic spectacles.
Film crews descended on Greenwich Market and the Old Royal Naval College in February to shoot parts of the movie, which is set a year after the original and sees stars Mark Ruffalo, Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine return.
Harry Potter actor Daniel Craig – an enthusiastic amateur magician himself – is a new addition to the cast.
Greenwich has been a favourite location for Hollywood movies of late, with recent blockbusters The Man From UNCLE, Thor 2, Skyfall and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
We’re sure we can see Greenwich Market at 21 seconds in when Dave Franco’s Jack Wilder (Horseman death) throws performs a card-throwing trick.
And again at 40 seconds.
The umbrellas are out as the Old Royal Naval College gets a rain-soaked performance from Jesse Eisenberg’s Danny Atlas aka The Lover at 30 seconds.
