Julie Andrews - Beckenham
Beckenham can boast possibly the world's most famous nanny among its most illustrious residents.
Mary Poppins star Julie Andrews, born in Walton-on-Thames in 1935, spent two years living in Beckenham during the Second World War.
As well making her name in Mary Poppins, Andrews has also starred in The Sounds of Music, The Princess Diaries and Victor/Victoria.
It seems Andrews was destined to be a star since she was a child, when it discovered she had a four-octave voice. She has delighted audiences of all ages for over five decades, with dazzling performances both on stage and screen.
