Floella Benjamin - Beckenham
Floella Benjamin is known to a generation as a presenter of pre-school children's TV shows.
She is best known as the presenter of kids' favourite Play School, alongside co-stars Humpty, Jemima and Little Ted.
Born in Trinidad, she immigrated to the UK as a child in the early 1960s, where her family settled in Beckenham.
Benjamin passed a banking diploma and was ambitious to become the first ever black woman bank manager, but her love of acting and children won through.
She now runs her own production company and lives in London.
