Soulful singer Ruby Turner is to be supported by a local up-and-coming band when she performs in Dartford this week.

The former Culture Club singer will be appearing at The Mick Jagger Centre on Friday (April 27).

And warming up the audience will be Dartford-based Th3 Sound who formed at school in 2010.

Turner’s sparkling solo career includes hits I’d Rather Go Blind, If You’re Ready and It’s Gonna Be Alright.

She has made 17 albums, acted in films and on television, starred in West End musicals, and is one of the main singers with Jools Holland’s R&B Orchestra.

Her powerful voice breathes life and meaning into any song, and her amazing previous performances at the Mick Jagger Centre were memorable successes.

Th3 Sound, formed of Kwayedza Kureya, Jack Thomas and Michelle Marquis describe their music as acoustic pop and are influenced by Adele, Michael Jackson, The Eagles and Stevie Wonder to name a few.

Last year the passionate band held a fundraising gig at the Mick Jagger Centre in aid of tsunami victims.

Tickets to the event on Friday are £19 and £17 for concessions.

The show starts at 8pm at the Shepherds Lane venue.
