WELSH tenor Wynne Evans, better known as the moustachioed singer from the Go Compare adverts, will join the world-renowned Royal Philharmonic Orchestra when they return to Fairfield Halls next month.

Here Come The Classics, at the Croydon venue on February 2, promises to be a spectacular concert featuring the very best of classical music.

Evans, whose portfolio ranges from roles with the Royal Opera House and Welsh National Opera to appearing as a soloist for the opening night of the BBC Proms, will perform popular classical arias including Puccini’s Nessun Dorma and Di Capua’s O Sole Mio.

Clio Gould, Leader of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, will take the role of soloist for this concert, showcasing her virtuosic talents with Sarasate’s Zigeunerweisen and Massenet’s Meditation from Thaïs.

The programme will be rounded off with a selection of timeless orchestral favourites including Rossini’s galloping William Tell Overture, Grieg’s dramatic In the Hall of the Mountain King and Ravel’s thrilling Boléro.
