GOLDSMITHS University is hosting a free screening of an award-winning film this Saturday (September 14).
I Am Breathing has dazzled critics, gaining dozens of five-star reviews and was part of the official selection for Edinburgh’s International Film Festival.
It is a documentary charting the last few months of 34-year-old architect Neil Platt who was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in 2008.
He went from being a healthy father and husband to becoming completely paralysed from the neck down in a matter of months.
Postings from his blog are used to narrate the film as he prepares a letter and memory box for his baby son Oscar.
This free screening in New Cross has been organised by community engagement charity the Challenge Network and the South London group of the MND Association to raise awareness and boost support available to those with the condition.

The event takes place between 12.30pm and 3.30pm (film starts at 1pm) on Saturday in Lecture Room 2 in the New Academic Building in Goldsmiths University. Places needed to be booked in advance here.
