SIR Elton John will not be replaced as the headliner at British Summer Time at Hyde Park on Friday, but the show will go on for free.
Ticketholders will get a refund after Sir Elton had to pull out with appendicitis.
Former Kinks front man Ray Davies, Elvis Costello, Gabrielle Aplin and Nick Lowe will all perform on the main stage, and the show will now be free.
Existing ticketholders will get automatically get a refund within seven days and they can bring their existing tickets along to get in on Friday. Go to bst-hdyepark.com for free tickets on a first come, first served basis until the show is at capacity.
Rob Hallett, President, International Live Touring, AEG Live said: “We certainly wish Elton a speedy recovery and know that he would have hated for us to cancel the whole day’s events because of this.
“In the beautiful surroundings of Hyde Park and the incredible weather we are having, our show goes on! And there’s no better way to enjoy the start of our final weekend with a free event for all to enjoy with some excellent headline artists topping off even more great entertainment in our 10-day event.”
