HIGH-quality ice cream from the shops is very expensive so I thought an ice cream maker would be a good solution to my dessert cravings.
Cue the Flavour Factory from JML.
It took some trial and error to get decent results out of it but now I've got the hang of it I'm very impressed.
The machine is very easy to use. You mix the ingredients up, pour the mixture in and the Flavour Factory churns it to a good consistency in about half an hour.
You can make frozen yogurt, sorbet, gelato and drinks using the machine too.
The drawbacks of the Flavour Factory are the bowl needs to be frozen for several hours before it can be used so it's best to permanently keep it in the freezer if you want ice cream at short notice.
And the ice cream needs a spell in the freezer after the churning to get the best results.
But with the Flavour Factory being at the lower end of the price scale, £40, it's a very good value addition to the kitchen which allows you to inexpensively enjoy your favourite types of ice cream with the knowledge that it's all homemade.
