Hall Place, Bourne Road, Bexley

Hall Place was built in 1537 during the reign of Henry VIII for Sir John Champneis, Lord Mayor of London.

The 65-acre estate is one of Bexley's top heritage sites and is popular for days out, events and functions.

The Tudor house, which was extended in the 17th century, is now home to Bexley Museum. Numerous exhibitions are held in the galleries throughout the year.

Some of its rooms are open to the public, including the magnificent Great Hall which contains an 18th century chamber organ built by George England.

Hall Place is now owned by Bexley Council and is in a beautiful setting within award-winning gardens.

Opening details: Open daily in summer and Monday - Saturday in winter
