Visitor Attractions
London Aquarium, Westminster Bridge Road, London SE1
FOR hours of fascinating fishy fun, spend a day at London Aquarium.
The attraction could not be easier to get to, next to the London Eye and just a couple of minutes' walk from Waterloo Station.
Once inside, you enter a wonderful world of underwater discovery.
Both fun and educational for all the family, you will find more than 350 species, including sharks, eels, stingrays, clownfish (like Nemo!) and turtles.
The aquarium is split into 14 zones which take you on a voyage through the world's aquatic life, from rivers and ponds to oceans and rainforests.
Your tour begins in local waters examining some of the fish found close to home, before you gradually travel deeper into more tropical territories.
Everything in the aquarium is very atmospheric, with sound effects and mood lighting adding to the experience.
Not that kids' interest will wane as you walk around the aquarium, but there are extra distractions in the form of a touch pool, craft activities and regular talks and feeds.
London Aquarium is open daily (except Christmas day) from 10am to 6pm, last admission 5pm (check website for late openings).
