VETERAN rock band Status Quo will be honoured with a plaque commemorating their first gig.
The Music Heritage Plaque from the Performing Rights Society will be mounted at the former site of the Welcome Inn in Well Hall Road, Eltham, where the band first performed in 1967.
The pub, at the junction of Westmount Road, burnt down in 2006 and is now a block of flats.
The group's original members Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt will both be attending the ceremony on September 20 at 11am and fans who were at their first gig are invited to join them.
Status Quo, who had hits with Rockin' All Over The World and Whatever You Want, are the seventh band this year to be given a Music Heritage Plaque.
Deptford band Dire Straits were similarly honoured last year, while a plaque commemorating Squeeze was unveiled in Greenwich in February.
Performing Rights Society chairman Ellis Rich said: “It’s an honour and a pleasure for us to commemorate the site of the first Status Quo gig with a Music Heritage Award.
"Status Quo has been rocking all over the world, making an incredible contribution to the music scene in a career spanning an amazing four decades and they are still going strong."
