KENT'S skyline will be alight with Christmas magic as Little Britain star David Walliams switches on Bluewater shopping centre's Christmas lights next Friday.
This will be followed by a dazzling fireworks display, watched by thousands of festive revellers.
The award-winning performer and author said: “I am delighted to have been asked to switch on Bluewater’s Christmas lights.
"It is a huge privilege and I am looking forward to seeing all the families there on the night.
"I may even fit in some Christmas shopping while I’m there.“
The evening’s festive celebrations which begin at 5.45pm, with Santa leading a parade through the shopping centre's malls.
There will also be performances from the world famous London Community Gospel Choir.
David will then join Heart’s James and Gemma and children’s favourite Justin Fletcher from CBeebies to switch on the lights at 6.30pm.
Following the fireworks display, Santa will make an appearance and open his enchanting grotto. Suitable for children of all ages, there is no charge for entry and every child will receive a free gift.
David Walliams will also be appearing earlier in the day at a book signing for his second children’s novel Mr Stink at Waterstone’s, Upper Guildhall, Bluewater at 4.30pm.
