Earlier this year members of Bromley Art Society were each given a section of an unnamed painting and asked to go away and recreate an A4 version in their own individual style.
When all the pieces were brought together like a jigsaw this month, it revealed a startling adaptation of Pieter Bruegel’s already colourful and complex, Mad Meg.
The activity was inspired by similar projects instigated by Rolf Harris at Trafalgar Square, where the artist invited members of the public each to paint a section of Constable’s Hay Wain and Holbein’s Henry VIII.
Society member Christine Richards said: "Those who chose to work on this have certainly enjoyed the experience and it has given an added incentive for people who do not normally attend the lectures and demonstrations on the first Friday of each month to become more involved."
