Bromley Arts Society is inviting artists to submit works for inclusion in its annual open exhibition. Non-members, as well as members, of any discipline, can submit up to three pieces for display in St George's Church, Beckenham, at the end of the month.

Society member and publicity officer Christine Richards said: "We were founded to encourage all artists. We never turn away a painting.

"We want to see all styles of art, we always stress we're here to encourage all artists. There's no vetting procedure.

"It's a great chance for artists to see their work in a gallery."

The closing date for submissions is September 10.

Bromley Art Society's annual Open Exhibition, St George's Church, Beckenham from Sep 20 to Sep 27. For submission details, call 020 8856 7717.

Remarkablw works by talented painters. I particularly enjoyed the humour in Gilly Hewstone's drawing Havan A Smoke. The Open Exhibitions are always worth at least one visit. I'll be there again this year.
