Jason Donovan Especially for Dartford Festival

Jason Donovan has promised to revisit his popular hits when he headlines the Dartford Festival this weekend. The former Neighbours and Joseph star said: "I like to give people what they want so there'll be all the hits and more. I'm a sentimental character and hopefully Dartford won't be disappointed.

"I'll be doing Especially for You, Too Many Broken Hearts and Any Dream. I love conversation and interacting so I hope to put on a very good show for the people of Dartford."

Jason will be treating the crowds to some new 1950s and 1960s-inspired material too but admits he has no problems singing his most famous songs.

He said: "I'm very grateful that I have had three or four very successful songs and it's nice to see how they influence people. Music is like an emotional journey and people remember where they were when they hear a certain song - as I get older I've come to really appreciate how lucky I am to have those hits and I'm happy to play them."

For avid fans, Jason has just written his autobiography. He feels it will help fill in some of gaps, from his life and career, which the tabloids tend to miss out.

"My autobiography enabled me to catalogue my life," he said. "It sort of drew a line in my life to a certain period. I've had an interesting life and people have lived it and grown with me. The media are only interested in the big highs and the big lows and there's not so much interest in the in betweens. It the autobiography enabled people to understand the ups and downs.

"Celebrity has become a very strong currency and its stocks are up. Being famous has become more transient now but the longevity of it is still down to talent. I think that shows like Britain's Got Talent and X factor are brilliant though as they make a great platform for talent and give people the break they need."

"I don't regret anything in my life it's the make up of what I am. I have a wonderful partner, well wife, I got married very recently and two kids - it's a good life. As I've got older I have learned to appreciate what I've got and how lucky I've been. I have a lot more respect for myself as I get older."

The two-day event will also feature cockney pop rock duo Chas and Dave, dance guru Len Goodman and Britain's Got Talent finalists Strike and Kate and Gin.
