Blackheath is a location on the up, and rent in the London suburb has been rocketing upwards as well.

Prices rose by 16 per cent on average in the space of a year in the Greenwich town, according to latest figures from SpareRoom.

These two swanky properties had the highest rent cost in the borough of Greenwich across SpareRoom, Zoopla or Rightmove.

Both are located in the high-end Blackheath Park; one a seven-bedroom detached home with JLL Residential, and the other a six-bed detached house with Winkworth.

LL Residential describe the 4,000 sq. ft. home as “architecturally designed and ultra-modern” and that it provides “opulent luxury living and entertaining space”.

Winkworth say their six-bed, three story building has “under floor heating, solid oak flooring, double glazing, lighting systems and CAT5 wiring” and includes a media room, gym and wine cellar.

They’re also within 400 metres from Kidbrooke station, 600m from Blackheath, and even has an impressive energy efficient rating, both ranking a solid B at 85, meaning they have lower running costs.

The catch? The rent prices for both these Blackheath properties is £10,000 per month, or £2,308 per week.

Even if you split the room with seven people for each individual room, that’s still £1,428 per month rent per person.

For the rest of us, it might be easier to rent in Thamesmead or Eltham, where the average rent is £523, or in Abbey Wood where the average rent is £506. Although those homes probably don’t have gyms and wine cellars.
