Popstar pledges green support
LONDON-based pop star Lily Allen pledged her support to a campaign encouraging more people to include green energy features when renovating or building their homes.
The Smile singer voiced her support for a drive to
persuade MPs to insert an amendment to the energy bill last week.
Friends of the Earth charity reported Ms Allen would like the energy bill to ensure householders and
businesses who generate green energy for the national grid from their own properties are contractually
guaranteed a minimum price from energy companies.
After working in a solar-powered recording studio in London she said: "I fully support giving people a
renewable energy reward for the power they generate."
To date, around 270 MPs have shown support for the bill.
