Calling all landlords

AMAX Estates, formally Amax Lettings is holding an evening event for landlords to celebrate moving into new premises.

To mark the launch of the new offices, the estate agency is inviting landlords to a free open evening at The Three Daws, Town Pier, Gravesend, on 23 April.

The event, which begins at 6pm opened by the leader of Gravesham Borough Council Mr Michael Snelling, will provide landlords with vital information about the lettings market and advice on making a success of their investments.

Maxine Fothergrill, the managing director of Amax Estates, trainer of landlords for the London Landlord Accreditation Scheme and Chartered Institute of Housing will be a guest speaker at the event.

Her presentation will provide landlords the required updated information on Local Housing Allowance - which came into effect on 6 April - from a landlords prospective.

Branch manager Martin Gray describes the evening as an important event in the calendar for both existing and new landlords as it is a complete update of legislation made by key guest speakers who are experts in their fields.

He said: "This is the third landlord event we've held at Amax and the previous ones have been extremely successful.

"It is an informative evening especially for newcomers looking to invest in the buy-to-let market and existing landlords who might benefit from more people entering the lettings market as a result of the unstable buying market.

"There is a lot of development happening across Gravesham with new builds looking a viable option for landlords to invest in."

He added: "Some valuable guest speakers will give landlords all the information they need on the latest legislations, which are constantly changing."

There will be presentations covering the latest legislation on the Energy Performance Certificate, which will become mandatory as of October, for which Amax will be offering a £25 discount for everyone who attends.

David Blowers from E-ON will be present, giving a short presentation and offering free lightbulbs for landlords to pass on to their tenants. Tax expert Narinda Thandi will be providing information about saving money on annual tax bills.

Martin said: "We are looking forward to the event which we hope will benefit landlords in many ways."
