Interior designers move in at Kingwood Chase
Building work winds down on the development as they prepare to open the show homes
Building work winds down on the development as they prepare to open the show homes

FINISHING touches are being made to a new five-bedroom show house and two-bedroom show apartment at the Kingswood Chase development in Chislehurst.

Developers St James Homes have been focusing its efforts on preparing for the opening of the two show homes by making way for the interior designers.

Recent developments include the roof the manor house having been fully restored to its former glory and the protective scaffolding and temporary roof has been removed.

Next week, the scaffold to the front of the manor house will also be removed, exposing the refurbished elevation in all its grandeur.

The refurb has commenced to the manor house and each apartment has been sympathetically planned around the existing features and layout.

Ground-source heat pumps which will provide renewable energy for the large houses are currently being installed and three 90m-deep boreholes will provide a 10 per cent renewable energy source for heating and hot water for each property.

The first phase of the development nears completion with the final road being installed by the end of April providing access to the first 10 properties.

Sales and marketing director for St James Homes Niki Turner said: "We are thrilled to be restoring Emil Teichmann's Victorian manor house and grounds to provide a prestigious collection of apartments and family homes.

"Set in secluded woodland at the end of a private road, Kingswood Chase is an exclusive address.

"We have taken great care to ensure the entire scheme is in keeping with the original architecture."

She added: "Purchasers at Kingswood Chase can expect to enjoy the very high standards that they usually associate with the St James name."

Prices start from £675,000 for a two bedroom apartment to £2.4m for a six bedroom detached house.
