A CAMPAIGN group took to the high street to try and persuade shoppers to support their fight against intensive farming.
Members of Bromley Friends of the Earth visited Bromley High Street wearing animal masks to urge people to sign up to their Fix the Food Chain campaign.
Co-ordinator Ann Garrett said: “Friends of the Earth are concerned about the hidden chain linking intensive meat and dairy production in the UK to climate change and the loss of wildlife.
“Forests in South America are being destroyed to grow high-protein soy crops used to feed our chickens, pigs and cows.”
The group hope their visit to Bromley on June 20 will help reduce the impact of the meat and dairy industry, shift subsidies to support planet-friendly farming, while helping farmers grow their own animal feed.
