PUPILS left the modern comforts of their classroom to attend lessons among the trees.
The BEECHE Centre in High Elms Country Park in Shire Lane, Farnborough has been running a forest school- teaching primary school youngsters in woodlands.
A method developed in Sweden, the idea is that children will grow in confidence and better understand the world, particularly science, by learning outdoors.
Reception and Year 1 pupils from Farnborough Primary School in Farnborough Hill, have taken part in a six week pilot to explore the environment.
Some children have been learning how to tie knots, constructing castles and moats as well as learning about bluebells.
Forrest school organiser Sue Houghton said: “The experiences in this short time have been endless and there is no doubt that the children have greatly benefited.”
