Latest results from the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch in London, show the continuing decline of the once-common sparrow and starling. Despite both birds coming in the top five of sightings this year, the RSPB says: “Something is causing their numbers to tumble and despite extensive research, we are not yet in a position to reverse that.” The most common sighting was the starling, followed by wood pigeon, blue tit, sparrow and blackbird.
