BIRDS: Bird charity gives advice on nests and chicks

7:20pm Thursday 28th May 2009

With the nesting season well underway, the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds has made this appeal: “If you come across a chick on the ground, don’t be tempted to try and help them or move them in any way. Although they sit there looking vulnerable and sounding distressed, the adult birds will be close by and will know what to do. If you discover a nest, don’t touch it, as you risk the mother abandoning her eggs or chicks.”
