DESPITE the damp and dreary summer weather, youngsters never tire of getting wet.
So a fun day at one of the borough's splash parks could not fail to attract the crowds.
But it was a fun day with a difference at the Belvedere splash park in Woolwich Road, Belvedere, because the theme of the day was the environment.
Bexley Council's outdoor recreation team laid on a host of fun activities, all with a green theme.
Renzo, a toymaker who uses recycled materials, worked with the children making animals from old plastic bottles, while the Energy Saving Trust spoke to parents and carers about how to save energy in the home and gave away free energy-saving light bulbs.
There were also environmental games, teaching children what items are recyclable and what should go into which recycling box.
Children were also able to make jewellery from beads and park rangers took them bark rubbing and on minibeast hunts.
