PEOPLE are being encouraged to sign up to an energy saving programme to reduce their carbon footprint.
Households can save more than £100 a year from fuel bills by joining the Catford Energy Savers programme.
Residents who live in the Catford South Ward can receive free advice on energy efficiency and an energy and water saving kit worth £120.
The kit includes an energy monitor, low energy light bulbs and reflective radiator panels as well as other energy saving gadgets.
Janet Gainey, of Daneby Road, said: “This is a really good project and I’ve been spreading the word to my friends and neighbours to encourage them to take part.
“I find I am more aware of the energy I use.”
More than 650 households have signed up to the project, which is funded by the London Development Agency and Lewisham Council.
The programme ends March 31.
