CHILDREN were buzzing with excitement after their school’s beehive was offically unveiled.
Pupils at Charlton Manor Primary School, Indus Road, were joined by Greenwich and Woolwich MP Nick Raynsford, along with members of Sidcup’s Ruxley beekeepers on June 26.
School support worker Joseph Turner-Wing says the hive will be used by children to learn about pollination and the dwindling numbers of bees in the UK.
And he said the children are enjoying having a hive at the school and trying some of the honey produced.
He said: “We’ve been surprised how calm the children are around the bees - they’re a lot calmer than some of the adults.
“They all really want to go over there and look at what the bees are doing.”
