THE Mayor of London is urging Londoners to get on their bikes and enjoy the city.
Boris Johnson’s Skyride, on September 20, is expected to attract thousands of cyclists from across the capital who will be able to ride through central London on special traffic free routes.
Mr Johnson said: “London is a fantastic city to cycle in, but for a plethora of reasons many of us don’t do it as much as we would like.
“The Mayor of London’s Skyride will be a chance for people to get on their bikes and enjoy a ride through some fantastic green spaces free from the interference of cars, which can sometimes be off-putting.”
Boris Johnson is investing £111m in cycling in London this year, including funding for a new cycle hire scheme in central London and safety training across the city.
