AN environmentally-friendly home has opened its doors to the public.
Greenwich Council has refurbished the 1920s two-bedroomed flat in Plumstead to showcase home-improvement ideas that can cut bills and help the planet.
Features include three flaps in the kitchen work-surface, leading to bins for compostable waste, dry mixed recycling and leftover black sack rubbish.
Radiator insulation panels are on show and in the roof, there's a solar panel to generate electricity.
Residents can book an appointment to take a look at what can be done to transform their home.
There are also open days on October 9, October 16, October 23, and October 30 from 10am until 4pm and on October 12, from 2pm until 5pm.
Cllr Rajwant Sidhu, Greenwich Council's cabinet member for Greener Greenwich, said: "Adopting some of the features you see there will help to reduce your carbon footprint and will also help to reduce your fuel bills."
