Naomi Cleaver launched this year's awards

A SEARCH has begun to find the UK's best and greenest builder.

The Federation of Master Builders (FMB) has launched the search for this year's national Master Builder of the Year award, which includes a special category for energy efficiency.

According to the FMB, the winner of the energy efficient category should have knowledge of measures to save energy, as well as being able to install insulation, wind turbines and even solar panels.

TV presenter Naomi Cleaver launched this year's awards, said: "Homeowners should be able to look to their builders to provide them with energy efficiency ideas to help them to save money and the planet."

The winning builder in each category is nominated by the customer and prizes include a weekend in a hotel, a £3,000 holiday and a car.
