A BEEKEEPER took the top prize in a honey contest at just her second attempt.
Claire Joseph, 59, won the much-coveted open class prize for two jars of liquid honey, as well as the novice class, the blue riband and best in show at Bromley and Orpington Beekeepers' Honey Show.
The Honey Show is held annually at the Emmanuel Church, The Grove, West Wickham.
Miss Joseph, of Bamford Road, Bromley has been beekeeping for more than five years but this year was the second time she has entered her honey in a competition.
The full-time carer and former teacher beat 104 other entries to win.
Miss Joseph said: "I am astonished because I didn't feel I had any chance of winning."
