BROMLEY Council will be holding its annual environmental awards ceremony at the Civic Centre on Friday.
The awards will be presented by the mayor of Bromley, Councillor Denise Reddin and TV weather forecaster Sian Lloyd.
It is the 19th annual awards to mark the environmental contribution made by residents, businesses, schools and organisations.
Entries were received during the spring and independently judged in May.
There are a number of different categories, including a business award for companies which can demonstrate good sustainable practices.
Primary, secondary and pre-school awards recognise the efforts made by children, teachers and parents.
There is also a group award for charities and organisations making a difference.
The citizen award recognises the work of individuals, while the household award will be handed out for a home which is run in an eco-friendly way, possibly through recycling or saving energy.
There are also awards for the best recycling project, building design, a community, a sense of place, study and research projects and an overall winner.
Winners in each category will be presented with a certificate and a recycled glass award.
Environment promotions officer Kay Spurrier, from the council's green team, which organises the event, said: "Every year we are pleasantly surprised by the quality of nominations received.
"The variety and overall excellence shows residents and businesses continue to care about Bromley's environment.
"Look out for details of our winners in News Shopper's green pages."
Selected winners from Bromley's awards will also go forward to represent the borough in the regional final of News Shopper's Green Guardian Awards early next year.
