Butterfly numbers falling
BUTTERFLY numbers in the UK are at an all time low following last year's wet summer, according to a charity.
Statistics compiled by the Butterfly Conservation and the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology found eight butterfly species' numbers were at a record low.
Butterflies cannot fly in the rain, making it impossible for them to reach the plant nectar they feed on.
Last year was butterflys' worst for more than 25 years.
