IT worker mucks in at city farm
MUCKING out stables is quite a leap from Ben Davidson's day job in IT.
But the computer engineering graduate took time out from computers at the EDF Energy offices in Bexleyheath Broadway, last week, to go and work on a city farm for the day.
Mr Davidson, 25, was one of 17 volunteers from EDF's two-year graduate programme who volunteered to spend a day at the Hackney City Farm, a community project in east London.
The project is part of EDF's Helping Hands scheme, which allows all staff at least two days of company time a year, to support community and environmental projects.
In addition to cleaning out the farm's stables, Mr Davidson, who is from Eden in Australia, also did some carpentry and gardening work.
