Green Endings

Recently, a woman who had just come out of a funeral done by Green Endings thanked me for the beauty of it. She also said an interesting thing - she said "you've solved the problem of funerals." I thought about it for a minute while I gave directions to the family home and then I asked her to explain what she meant. She said that the kind of funeral on offer on the high street with it's fake gold handles, shiny cars and a vicar who recites the traditional liturgy just wouldn't work for her and her friends. "We aren't religious but we're spiritual. We care about beauty and the environment and we want the funeral to reflect our lives. This funeral did just that."

At Green Endings we make it possible to celebrate a life while at the same time not minimising the sadness of a death. We do this by offering families green and non-religious options that make meaning of the person's life. We support family and friends to be as involved in the organising of the funeral as they would like to be and the day turns out to be an uplifting experience.
