Harlands Organic Furnishings
Harlands Organic Furnishings is an upholstery and soft furnishing company using organic and environmentally sustainable materials. Services include: bespoke upholstered sofas, chairs and headboards, made-to-measure curtains and blinds, soft furnishings and organic fabric by the metre.
We use organic cotton, hemp and organic British wool from a sustainable source. All the fabrics are biodegradable and the dyes are non-toxic. All the woods in our furniture are recycled or sustainable, we use non-toxic, formaldehyde-free, water-based glues and all wood finishes are non-toxic. We don't use leather, only work with peace silk, where the moth has been able to complete its natural life cycle and instead of using feather down, we use organic wool balls.
At Harlands Organic Furnishings we believe that the production of home furnishings does not need to have a damaging impact on the environment. "With the concerns mounting over a whole range of issues such as climate change, the use of sweatshop labour and animal welfare, we are determined to show customers that there is a better way".
