KICKING off tomorrow with Jack the Ripper thriller From Hell, starring Johnny Depp, Croydon's David Lean Cinema celebrates the capital's darker side with a season of scary movies set in London.

Horror of London will run at the arthouse theatre at Fairfield Halls throughout September.

Continuing on Friday with Shaun of the Dead and a triple bill on Saturday which includes London Voodoo, Creep and An American Werewolf in London, the "scream-ings" also feature pre-show talks from film industry experts.

A free screening of the Orson Welles classic The Third Man will also be held at the cinema on September 16, when film buffs are invited to give their opinions on the movies they’d like to see at Fairfield in the future.
