DINERS at a chippy in Greenwich thought they might be eating their final meal when they were greeted by the grim reaper, stood behind the counter flipping cod and battering some savaloys.

Death's visit to The Great British Fish and Chip Shop in King William Walk was part of a tour of the town yesterday to promote the Youth Musical Theatre's production of Terry Pratchett’s Mort the Musical at Greenwich Theatre.

The skeletal star of the show, which runs at the venue in Crooms Hill from August 10 to August 13, was also spotted taking a stroll through the streets and shopping in Greenwich Market, before finally heading back to the theatre for rehearsals.

Mort the Musical is based on Pratchett’s classic Discworld novel and tells the story of an awkward, unemployable young man who is given a dream job by Death.

However, things don't exactly go smoothly and being Death’s apprentice comes with great responsibilities.
