ERITH singer songwriter Wayne Jacobs has made it through to the finals of a national country music contest.
Jacobs' song My Tennessee Girl is up for the UK Country Radio's Listeners Club Award and is one of five entries competing for the accolade and the chance to be heard by on the national airwaves.
The finals will take place in Derby on September 17 and the winner will be decided through votes on the night and the amount of air play the song has received.
Jacobs says his song was inspired after watching the Johnny Cash biopic Walk The Line, in which the famous man in black wrote his songs to the sound of a train.
