AUDIENCE hearts will be pounding next month when Stephen King’s flesh-crawling thriller Misery is staged at Croydon’s Fairfield Halls.
The show stars EastEnders actress Cathy Murphy as the psychotic nurse Annie Wilkes, who rescues her favourite romantic novelist Paul Sheldon (Paul Prescott) from a horrific car crash.
Unfortunately for him, Annie soon discovers his latest novel does not feature her favourite character Misery and she forces him to destroy the manuscript and to begin work on a new one immediately.
Tender loving care soon turns to terrorism and a deadly cat and mouse game ensues as Paul finds himself forced to write a chapter of a new novel every day – simply to stay alive.
Misery runs from October 4 to October 8. To book, call 020 8688 9291 or visit fairfield.co.uk
